Art in the Park is a public outdoor art activity free and open to the public, with demonstrations, participatory art, and exhibition and sale of works by local artists. The event is held on the Winchester Common on Saturday, August 16, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, in conjunction with the weekly Farmers' Market. It is a highlight of the month-long Art in August festival.

A family-friendly event, Art in the Park offers something for everyone!

Art in the Park is a family-friendly public art activity including hands-on opportunities, demonstrations, and exhibitions of art that takes place during the Winchester Farmers' Market. A number of local artists will run activities to show their creative process and in some cases to let people try making their own. Artists all also be able to sell their artwork. There will be something for everyone!

The Winchester Library hosts a reception celebrating a month-long exhibition by "Nature's Artistry Interpreted" artist Trish Gannon. The exhibition, or original pastel art and acrylic mono-prints, will be on view from Sept. 3 to Sept. 30, 2024.

Come meet artist and poet David Hummon and see his unique ink and wash drawings of familiar (and not so familiar) Winchester scenes, at Winchester's community bookstore, Book Ends. This special reception is part of Art in August. Refreshments served, free admission, come to look or to buy!

Come meet artist Jui-Lan "Juily" Su at the Winchester architecture and interior design studios of Leslie Saul and Associates. Juily spent more than 30 years in biomedical research. Come meet three talented artists at Winchester's art center, Studio on the Common. See beautiful watercolors by Carolyn Latanision, NWA, gouache paintings and cyanotypes by Mary Garrity, and unique jewelry by Juliette Kopala. This special reception is part of Art in August.
