Ballet Arts Centre of Winchester

Ballet Arts Centre of Winchester was founded in 1990 with the goal of offering the Winchester area a unique, quality program of dance designed to meet the needs of a wide range of students of varying ages and levels. In the years since, the school has become an established and integral part of the community and is recognized as one of the area’s leading schools for quality dance training. In 1999 BAC performed its first "Nutcracker" ballet which continues still as a bi-annual performance, giving students of all ages the opportunity to audition and perform in a professional production.

Winchester Sports Foundation

The Winchester Sports Foundation was organized in 1989 by a group of Winchester parents and sports enthusiasts as a result of severe budget cuts to the Winchester High School’s athletic budget. That year the athletic budget faced a $60,000 deficit and the high school considered instituting a $35 per student “sports and transportation fee.” Today, appropriate funding of the high school athletic programs continues to be a significant challenge.
