Stella and Stella, Grandmother and granddaughter, Greenville, MS, 10/13/2003 - Silent Auction Item
Join us for an unforgettable night, starting with a presentation and talk with Margo Cooper talking about Deep Inside the Blues, followed by a performance of soulful melodies featuring the incomparable talent of Toni Lynn Washington. Also happening during this event, a silent auction with concert photographs up for bidding by renowned rock and roll photographer Ron Pownall and featured artist Margo Cooper. We are also pleased to introduce Bootsy Holler, with images from the heyday of the Seattle music scene. This event promises to be a celebration of music, art, and community.
Toni Lynn Washington, hailed as the Queen of Boston Blues, will grace the stage with her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence. With a career spanning decades and a voice that resonates with raw emotion, Washington's performance is sure to leave a lasting impression on all who attend.
Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to bid on select pieces from Pownall and Cooper's collection, with all proceeds going to support the Griffin Museum's exhibitions and programs. Through their lens, they capture the essence of music, transporting viewers to another world where every image tells a story. A list of images is here. If you unable to join us and would like to place a bid, please contact Crista Dix, Executive Director at crista@griffinmuseum.org
We are grateful to our sponsors - Hostess Catering for providing the evenings delicious food, Stanhope Framers for framing our auction works and our Board of Directors for making this evening spectacular.
