The Winchester Cultural Council is joining with the Winchester Artists’ Network to exhibit local artists’ works in local shops and businesses throughout the month of August. We are kicking off Art in August with a gala reception to celebrate the arts in Winchester. Come meet the artists who are exhibiting in locations throughout the town, the merchants who generously donate space in their shops and windows, state and town leaders, Winchester Cultural Council members and local grant recipients, as well as other town residents and business owners.
All are invited, free admission. RSVP appreciated, to info@winchesterculturalcouncil.org
This event celebrates not just Art in August but also the many other expressions of cultural creativity in town. Those include the Griffin Museum’s Vision(ary) exhibit with displays all over town, "Our Town” photos of Winchester by Winchester residents, and “Photosynthesis” featuring work by Winchester and Burlington photography students. The Winchester Cultural District has brightened our sidewalks with art by over 50 student artists and local photographers, and continues the magnificent Riverwalk exhibition of sculptures and augmented reality experiences. Music fills the air with Wednesday Concerts on the Common, Saturday performances at the Farmers’ Market and events on the Griffin terrace, as well as evening events at Wright Locke Farm and elsewhere.
