About the organization:

Winchester ABC is a chapter of A Better Chance, Inc., a national nonprofit organization founded in 1963 to provide academically talented male and female scholars of color with expanded educational and career opportunities. Today, more than 1,000 African-American, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American scholars participate in A Better Chance programs in private and public college-preparatory schools throughout the country. Winchester ABC scholars attend WHS and become active members of the Winchester town community.

Opportunities:

Our board is staffed entirely by volunteers, with many subcommittees (and different time commitments) to choose from.

And if you're not ready for a board role, we also welcome one-off volunteers that would like to help out at specific events (including some where volunteers get early registration for their kids!)
 

About the organization:

We are a non-profit support network for Winchester families with infants to young children, we facilitate connections between families, offering local parenting resources and hosting playgroups, children's events, and parent events. Members number 200–300 families.

We are always looking for volunteers to assist with our fun programs and events! We especially appreciate volunteers during our Summer Program and during events! Providing exceptional, nurturing and engaging out-of-school programming for Winchester's working families. The Winchester After School Program, Inc. d.b.a. Kids' Corner, is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that has proudly served Winchester since 1982.
