A Festival of Lessons & Carols featuring Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols

Please join us on Sunday, December 14 at 10:00 am. for First Congregational Church's annual Festival of Lessons and Carols, a beloved tradition from England where God's word is proclaimed and contemplated in a special sequence of readings, prayers, poetry, choral anthems and congregational carols and hymns.

The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is most affectionately connected to King's College in Cambridge, England, where it has graced the Chapel on Christmas Eve since 1918.

Blessing of the Animals

Please join us for our annual Blessing of the Animals, outdoors, under the tent in front of our church at 34 Dix Street, Winchester, MA, on Sunday, October 5, at 10am. We will have animal-themed music and have individual blessings for every pet who comes. We will give thanks for our animal companions, honor animals that serve in public safety and wellness, and celebrate those who have taken on the difficult work of animal rescue, shelter, and care. All are welcome (people and animals), so please join us and bring your critters, big or small. If you can control it, you can bring it.

Easter Sunrise Service

Each year we greet Resurrection Day before the sunrises with gentle movement and breath work through the practice of Yoga with Christine Tresselt in the barn at Wright Locke Farm and then transition out to the hillside for a Sunrise Service to celebrate Christ's Resurrection.

Jazz Blessing of the Animals

Please join us on the Town Common where we will swing, celebrate and give thanks for all of God's creatures, blessing our animal companions. We welcome all pets--furry, scaly, hairy, feathery and even plush! Photos of beloved pet companions are welcome in place of those who can't be there. And a special seating section will be set aside for those who are more comfortable sitting away from the animals. To serenade both congregation and pets, FCCW's own house band will offer jazz music before, during and after the service. We will sing and move and praise all of creation with fun and upbeat
