Discover how to create and compose meaningful images, and tell a compelling story through your photos. Learn the fundamentals of lighting, how lighting impacts composition and the approach to creating strong frames for your photographs. Explore art direction with colors, props and locations to infuse story, self and symbolism into your work. The use of any camera that reflects your voice is encouraged -- equipment may include SLR's, DSLR's, point & shoot cameras, instant film or phones.

The Griffin Museum is pleased to present an evening with photographer Susan Weiss, the creative artist behind her new monograph, The Orchard.

Join us Saturday July 20th at 2pm in the Griffin Museum for a special conversation with featured artist Suzanne Theodora White. Her exhibition, Dry Stone, No Sound of Water, is on the walls of our Atelier Gallery through August 28th. She will be discussing the ideas behind the work, and her technique in how the work is produced. Suzanne will also be available to sign her catalog, available in the museum shop.

Urban night photography is a popular way of expanding a skyline portfolio and a person's skill set. Photographing the world at night portraits our surroundings quite literally in a very different light and usually mundane places like bridges, buildings and streets become colorful displays.
