Stories of Standing Up for Others: a Workshop

"Magical." "Stunning." "Brought everyone in."

These were some of the comments shared after the True Story Theater interactive performance held on Sunday, January 26. Five brave "tellers" shared moving stories of "standing up for others" that were "played back" by the extremely talented troupe to an audience to about 50 people. "You could feel the energy in the room" which lasted beyond the show as audience members mingled and reflected on the experience.

Part 2 of this program is an opportunity for all of us to practice standing up or speaking up for others, in a True Story-led workshop on active bystander skills. Community members 13+ years old are welcome to attend the workshop, whether or not you came on Sunday.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, February 25, from 6-8 pm at the Griffin Museum of Photography, 67 Shore Rd, Winchester. Please register (or re-register, if you had already done so for the earlier date) here to help us plan refreshments and materials.

These programs are co-sponsored by the Network for Social Justice, Winchester ABC, the Winchester Public Library, and the Griffin Museum of Photography, with funding from En Ka Society, First Congregational Church and the Winchester Cultural Council.
