This exclusive trip is an incredible way to experience the vibrant, creative, photographic culture of Paris, and gain insight into the current trends in collecting and creating fine art photography. Join Executive Director Crista Dix and photographer and educator Judith Pishnery on a week long immersive experience into all things photo during the peak of Fall and the week of all of the amazing events that surrounds the largest photography fair in the world. Judith Pishnery, a professional photographer, educator, curator, and arts administrator, will be your guide and organizer for this amazing trip to one of the world's premiere photographic events. Paris Photo is host to hundreds of photography galleries, dealers, publishers and events. In addition to visits to the fair itself, a selection of field trips to notable galleries, collections, museums and foundations will also be on the schedule. When available, curators and/or directors will be engaged to provide insight into their exhibitions. Visits may include: the Masion Europeenne de la Photographie, the Cartier-Bresson Foundation, Foundation Louis Vuitton and Polycopies. Participants will be able to join their guide on walks thru unique areas of Paris, that not only highlight historic landmarks, amazing restaurants, world-renowned shopping, but also give a glimpse into off-the-beaten-path areas within the city of lights. Paris provides a host of photographic opportunities throughout the day, in any weather, and truly shines at night. So, bring your camera, and maybe a tripod, and plan to not only see some wonderful photography, but make some of your own inspired images and memories. There will also be a pre-planning meeting via Zoom, (September date TBD) to present an overview of the itinerary, with a detailed breakdown of the offerings, and at that time Judith will discuss each participants interests and needs, to help customize the trip for them, as well as, discuss what can be done as a group, for those who аre interested. Judith Pishnery has been an educator, curator, and an arts administrator, as well as, a commercial and fine art photographer for over 30 years. Her love of Paris began while leading university study abroad trips as a professor, and for the past 25 years she has made it her passion to return nearly every year.
Her Parisian excursions have always revolved around sharing her love of the City of Lights and photography, while leading groups of photo enthusiasts on trips, particularly during Paris Photo. From exploring historic and cultural sites, to visiting galleries and museums, Judith knows the in's and outs of the Paris photographic scene. She has led countless photo tours through the wonderfully unique neighborhoods of Paris, continually discovering new places off the beaten path.
Of course no trip to Paris would be complete without a bit of shopping at the Grand Boulevards, the shops of the Marias, or indulging in delicious French food, pastries and maybe even a bit of award winning French wine!
Judith Pishnery completed her M.A and M.F.A. graduate degrees from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is currently the Digital Asset Manager and Head of Photography at Kennesaw State University, where she is responsible for managing a professional team of photographers in capturing the people and stories that make up the rich fabric of the university.
