Start Indigenous People’s Day Weekend with a visit to Winchester Farmers Market on the Town Common on Saturday, October 12 and celebrate the Market’s annual International Day. During the Market’s regular hours, 9:30-1:30, there will be cultural music and dance entertainment by students, community groups, and professional performers, as well as displays and activities. Indian dance and music, contemporary Chinese calligraphy, Japanese drumming and folk dancing, and a performance of Chinese opera are among the offerings.
What is your cultural heritage?
Reserve a table to display items and information from a country or teach a craft associated with a particular culture. Or sign up to share a dance, musical piece, or athletic demonstration that highlights a country’s culture. Contact Fred Yen to reserve a table or to sign up to perform. International Day is sponsored by the Winchester Cultural Council.
