The Griffin Museum is pleased to offer this intermediate - advanced online project development program for photo-based artists who аre seeking to start a new project (series), or take their current project to the next level using composite photography and some supplemental AI. Students will participate in monthly critiques and lectures, and this workshop will offer a comprehensive opportunity to experiment with or reimagine your concepts and ideas. You will also discover tools and techniques that will help you problem-solve and keep you inspired to explore new techniques in your work. Another objective of this class is to broaden your understanding of compositing within the photographic medium. Participants will work on multiple elements that enhance their image making: from experimenting with new tools like AI, to articulation, presentation, and potential installation of the work. There will be short lectures on a variety of topics around composited image making. These lectures will be designed like short demos to give the group a better understanding of what a particular process entails. The lectures/demos also encourage and inspire the participants to try different directions, or expand on the processes they are using. Sessions: Four Sessions. Dates: Every other Thursday: September 19, October 3, October 17, and October 31, 2024. Times: 6:30pm - 8:30pm, ET. Participants: Maximum: Eight students. Course Fee: $750, members /$800, non-members (non-member price includes a one year membership to the Griffin Museum, a $75 value). Level: Intermediate to Advanced. Students must be sufficiently proficient with text-to-image software, such as MidJourney, LeonardoAi, Dalle-e, or Night Cafe, as well as Adobe Photoshop. About the Instructor
