Winchester Unitarian Society kicks off its 20th annual concert series on Saturday, October 18th, at 8:00 PM, with a delightful evening of vocal music from opera and oratorio, musical theater, jazz and art song. Works will be performed by sopranos Cailin Smith and Kirsten Hart, tenor Brendan Buckley, and baritone Rob Woodin, accompanied by pianist John Kramer. The concert will be held in the Winchester Unitarian Society sanctuary, 478 Main Street, Winchester. It will also be live-streamed.
The program features works ranging in style and mood, from the rollicking drinking song in La Traviata and the lovely Flower Duet in the opera Lakmé, to the delightfully macbre in Sweeney Todd's A Little Priest and the riotously irreverent in The Song That Goes Like This in Monty Python's Spamelot.
