Arthur Griffin Foundation

The Foundation was established by renowned photographer and Winchester resident Arthur Griffin to provide scholarships for young visual artists and grants to preserve and enhance the beauty of the Winchester Community. For seventy years, Arthur Griffin (1903–2001) strolled and studied the streets and paths of Winchester, his beloved adopted hometown. Here, the renowned photographer captured the spirit of New England in the brick, foliage, and sunsets of an iconic Massachusetts town. Upon his death, the Arthur Griffin Foundation became his voice and vehicle to support civic programs that would benefit Winchester and its residents. Through scholarships and grants, we aim to preserve and enhance the beauty of the community.

The Foundation is independent of the Arthur Griffin Museum of Photography.
