SUMMARY:Photography Atelier II (Online) | 2025-2026
DESCRIPTION:The Griffin Museum is proud to continue its tradition of fostering
creative growth with Photography Atelier II\, an advanced\,
project-driven course led by photographer and educator Traer Scott.
This online class is designed for students who have completed
Photography Atelier I and are ready to take their photographic
  practice to the next level.

Atelier II challenges participants to deepen their conceptual
thinking\, refine their visual storytelling\, and expand on an
existing body of work -- or launch a new one -- building on the skills
and insight gained in Atelier I. Receive insightful\, professional
feedback during a final review with an expert panel -- including a
  museum curator\, gallery professional\, and photo editor/publisher.
The program concludes with a virtual exhibition highlighting the work
  of each participant.

Throughout the nine-month course\, students will engage in weekly and
bi-weekly critiques\, benefit from guest lectures by industry
professionals\, and have two one-on-one sessions with the instructor.
-- one in the fall and one in the spring. The class meets weekly from
mid-October to mid-December\, then resumes bi-weekly from January
through end of May\, with a break for the holidays.

This intensive program offers a unique opportunity to:

-- Sharpen your personal photographic vision

-- Strengthen your understanding of photographic projects from concept
  to completion

-- Explore advanced techniques for editing\, sequencing\, and
  presentation

-- Learn how to transition your work from wall to book format

-- Gain valuable feedback through a final industry panel review\,
  featuring a curator\, a gallery expert\, and/or a publisher/editor

The course culminates in a virtual exhibition\, showcasing each
  participant's work.

Join us for this transformative journey\, and continue developing your
photographic voice in a supportive\, rigorous\, and inspiring
  environment.

Prerequisites: Completion of Photography Atelier I at the Griffin
Museum is required. However\, advanced-level photographic artists with
experience in developing a cohesive project are also welcome to apply.
